Update to Android 11 for intrinsically safe smartphone Smart-Ex® 02 from ECOM now available

Thus they benefit from the numerous advantages and brand-new functions of the cutting-edge operating system. These include improved voice control (voice access), better management of access rights to camera, microphone and location for apps, as well as the ability to call up all connected end devices easily and manage them from a common location. From now on, security and data protection updates are carried out via the Google Play Store, comparable to app updates. This grants users maximum flexibility in controlling the updates.

Skin cancer from solar UV radiation is a growing risk, says UK safety expert Arco

Over exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays is the leading cause of melanoma skin cancers in the UK. As melanoma cases are rising faster than any other common cancer, the UK’s leading safety company, Arco, is raising awareness of the risks for outdoor workers and the responsibility employers have in taking an active role in helping to protect their workforce. 

Despite the growing consequences of unprotected UV exposure, a survey of health and safety managers conducted by S C Johnson Professional found that 76% of UK health & safety professionals were unaware of the danger, stating that they did not know that one death and five new cases of skin cancer per week in Britain could be attributed to occupational UV exposure.

Water jetting body strengthens governance to promote aims

The Water Jetting Association has made significant improvements to its governance to help promote its work and further its aims both in the UK and internationally.

The changes were approved at the association’s annual general meeting (AGM), held virtually via a digital video platform for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They include the introduction of a Marketing and Communications Committee to guide the promotion of the Water Jetting Association (WJA) in the UK and internationally and the strengthening of the roles of all three WJA committees.
