Originally built just after the Norman Conquest (when Building Regs weren’t quite so stringent!), Norwich Castle is now a fine museum.
Visitors are free to roam around the castle, including the battlements, which is why Fibregrid was called in. The perimeter roof around the castle, which offers panoramic views of the city, had wooden boards for people to walk on. These allowed rain water to collect and were a potential slip hazard.
