Engineering TV : Most Recent >>
This session will focus in on the analog drive section of the motor, reviewing the H-Bridge architecture, on-chip protection circuits, decay modes, thermal performance, on-chip control logic, and overall performance and reliability of todays integrated motor drive ICs. This section will also briefly cover the rest of the analog motor signal chain, including isolation devices, sense amps, and high performance ADCs.

Texas Instruments: Training: Save Energy with LED Lighting and Intelligent Sensing

Engineering TV : Most Recent >>
Main benefit of LEDs is that you can save energy by dimming the light. So what about an intelligent light which is aware of its environment and communicates to other lights on the need for illumination? From simple temperature measurement, ambient light and occupancy sensing using TI MCUs and DSPs to wired and wireless communication protocols TIs software and hardware solutions help to design Intelligent Lighting.

Texas Instruments: Training: Power Management for Energy Harvesting

Engineering TV : Most Recent >>
Extracting maximum power from energy harvesters places unique demands on the power management architecture. Several practical issues arise related to the energy levels that can be achieved from the harvester, the requirements on storing the energy and conversion into a form useable by the system. In this presentation, various energy harvesting devices will be briefly introduced along with applications which are suitable to utilizing this technology. Key considerations for the storage devices used in energy harvesting systems will also be discussed. Lastly, critical attributes and requirements for the power management will be presented.

Analog Devices Demos Power-Management Chip for Blade Servers at APEC 2011

Engineering TV: Only Engineering TV Videos >>
Analog Devices' Marcus O'Sullivan demonstrates the ADM1275, a power-management chip for blade servers. The device integrates a hot-swap controller with a PMBus power monitor. The hot-swap circuit uses advanced techniques to monitor sense-resistor current very accurately, at very low loss, allowing the use of smaller-value, lower-loss resistors. While the PMBus power monitor reports power usage with very high accuracy, along with energy metering and fault monitoring.
