Dron & Dickson Secures Global Frame Agreement

dron 12344Dron & Dickson, specialists in design, supply and maintenance of hazardous area electrical equipment, has secured a major contract with SBM Offshore.

The project will see Dron & Dickson carry out electrical inspection and maintenance on SBM Offshore’s assets. TheGlobal Frame Agreement began in late 2012.

Dron & Dickson will provide a team of 60 to service the operation, including a rope access team for high-level maintenance. The firm will also provide a dedicated engineering manager to oversee work being done in all regions.

ABERDEEN CENTRE CONTINUES TO BE A KEY BUSINESS SUCCESS FOR DRÄGER

Drager-6-6-13Safety specialist Draeger Safety UK Limited, plans to invest a further £1 million into the expansion of its dedicated centre in Aberdeen, following a successful three years since opening.
Since opening, Dräger has seen demand for its products and services expand, so much that business has increased, new jobs have been created, which has trebled the number of full time Dräger specialists available to meet growing customer requirements.

Located just 20 minutes from the international harbour, the centre on Tern Place in Bridge of Don, offers a dedicated Dräger training facility with a range of courses to prepare its customers prior to going offshore. In addition to on-site training and repair workshop facilities, customers can also hire, purchase and maintain Dräger products and have direct access to Dräger experts.

Dräger’s recent expansion included the introduction of a third flexible lecture suite and the development of an IT suite so that customers can access existing and newly developed e-learning courses. The Breathing Apparatus and Gas Detection maintenance area has also increased and the workshop and warehouse spaces are now double in size. The increasingly popular rental business has had more space dedicated to it, to support the expanding business and the introduction of the new FRS rental capability.

Plans are in place to develop a practical training facility adjacent to the current building, providing realistic training scenarios for courses including H2S, Authorised Gas Tester levels 1, 2 and 3, Confined Space Training, Search and Rescue and Working at Height.
