LOOKING BACK ON A PROUD DAY FOR FIBREGRID

july14-32LOOKING BACK ON A PROUD DAY FOR FIBREGRID

Prince George’s first birthday has been in the news lately. Seems hard to believe that the Duke and The Duchess of Cambridge have been married three years.

It’s fitting to look back at one of FibreGrid’s proudest moments, as our SlipGrip anti slip stair Tread Covers were used on the majority of press and media platforms around London for the Royal Wedding. (Read More)

The main contractor was Media Structures, who with the eyes of world’s media (not to mention their feet) on them, couldn’t afford to (excuse the pun), put a foot wrong. After all, employees of the BBC, ITV, Sky News, Fox News and ABC had to walk up the stairs and one slip could have resulted in the wrong sort of publicity. They needed a brand they could trust and that brand was FibreGrid.

SlipGrip stair treads are made from a high quality composite of glass woven matting impregnated with isophthalic (as standard) polyester resin.  That’s topped off with a special formula of grit offering excellent slip resistant and a hard wearing surface. The tread is black and the stair nosing is 55mm x55mm yellow to comply with current building regulations and the DDA. They are simplicity itself to fit – just “glue and screw”.

“I was lucky enough to visit the sites three days prior to the wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly with the installation of the SlipGrip Stair Tread Covers. It was extremely impressive seeing the huge structures that had been created in such a short time and it was very thrilling to know that our SlipGrip product was used to help to create a safe environment for the World’s media at such a prestigious event”. Said FibreGrid’s Sonya Pilgrim.

Okay, so we can’t put “By Royal Appointment” quite yet, but we’ll proud to have played a small part in keeping people on their feet on such an important day.
