BVC have just completed a Central Vacuum Cleaning System for a major UK smelter providing a cost effective solution to removal of material build up on high level steelwork which is transferred by the convection heat generated by the furnaces.
To maintain and manage a clean environment where conventional vacuum cleaners were not an answer, the solution was the installation of a pipe work system interconnecting 22 strategically positioned hose connection points connected to an existing mobile vacuum plant. The whole cleaning operation can be easily handled by 2 operators who can attach a hose into a point as frequently as required using standard BVC hoses and tools.
A second BVC system has been installed, remodelling and adding to an existing 3.0” pipe system to serve a process building spanning over several floors. This system has been provided with 16 hose connection points enabling heavy industrial vacuum cleaning to be performed by two people using BVC hoses and tools or 1 operator using 76 mm bore hose and tool to carry out bulk product removal from one specific area. The pipe work system is connected back to a vacuum plant comprising a filter separator which separates the collected materials dispensing them into a ‘FIBC’ for onward transportation with motive conveying air generated by an exhauster powered by a 15.0 kw motor within an acoustic enclosure to minimise emitted noise.
BVC are a market leader in the design and manufacturers of central vacuum cleaning systems with hundreds of installations in the UK and beyond.
