SUCO Ex pressure switches have earned a worldwide reputation over the past decades. In addition to reliability and safety, the unique features include a compact design and excellent price-performance ratio as well as many approvals for a wide range of demanding applications.

The new series 0342 / 0343 (hex 27) is certified according to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and IECEx scheme and combines the advantages of the established types 0165 (30 A/F) and 0340 / 0341 (hex 27). With a mounting size of only ~50 mm, the new series is among the most compact Ex pressure switches on the market.

The series 0342 / 0343 is approved for the following Ex zones:

Gases / Vapors (zones 1+2)         II 2G Ex db IIC T6 / T5 Gb)
Dusts (zones 21+22)                      II 2D Ex tb IIIC T80°C/ T100°C Db)
Methane / coal dust                       I M2 Ex db I Mb

The ignition gap dimensions of the series 0342 / 0343 have been redesigned to achieve the gas protection zones 1 + 2 according DIN EN 60079-1. The resulting ignition protection type 'Ex d' (Flameproof enclosure) ensures that an explosion occurring in the Ex pressure switch is enclosed within its housing to prevent the ignition of the potentially explosive environment.

The flameproof enclosure in combination with the ignition protection type 'Ex t' (Protection by enclosure) provides an intrinsically safe circuit (cf. 'Ex i') in the overall system. This increases the general level of protection within a potentially explosive atmosphere many times over.

The new Ex pressure switches are suitable for voltage up to 250 V and comply with IEC protection "Class 2". The switching point can be adjusted while mounted with a screwdriver via a set screw.
